Meeting the wider needs: Embedding mental health and addiction support (ONLINE)
A Talk by Adam Clayton , Bianca Hutchinson and Freya Donaldson
About this Talk
Considering the principles for Housing First it is paramount that services support individuals based on their strengths, goals and aspirations using a harm reduction approach. This session explores how services can ensure they provide holistic support for individuals when considering wider needs around mental health, addiction support and dual diagnosis.
We are excited to hear from Crisis Housing First and Greater Manchester Homeless Services to present two perspectives on the journey they have taken to meet the needs of the individuals they support. Across the speakers this will include; embedding Clinical Psychology in Housing First, working with multiple levels of context, staffing of services and role across a wider partnership, development since service mobilisation, and a systems change approach.
We will hear about different experiences of the journey from each service including both clients and staff’s point of view, including practical examples through case studies.
