Housing First and systems wide approaches to multiple disadvantage
A Talk by Carl Brown and Octavia Aronne
About this Talk
At MEAM, we believe – and have demonstrated – that change happens when services, commissioners, policymakers, and communities come together across sectors and organisational boundaries to take a system-wide approach. Where Housing First has excelled at navigating complex systems, MEAM’s system-wide approach shifts the focus from individual services or organisations, and instead seeks to transform systems and cultivate culture change toward relational working. All our work is guided by people who use services and those currently marginalized or excluded from them.
In this interactive session, you will be invited to share your thoughts on the role Housing First plays in addressing multiple disadvantage from a range of perspectives.
Key learning points:
- Gaining insight into the fundamentals of systems approaches and their significance in addressing complex social issues.
- Appreciating the value of diverse perspectives through an interactive workshop to foster comprehensive understanding and empathy.
- Exploring actionable steps for Housing First to embrace a system-wide approach, emphasising the importance of collaboration and inclusivity within our services and communities.
