
Dr Craig Fletcher

Dr Craig Fletcher is the Director of Impact, Research & Evaluation at Community Led Initiatives. He has lived experience of the criminal justice system having previously served a custodial sentence. On release from prison he set about transforming his life completing a BA honours in youth & Community work and a master’s degree in criminology before going onto to complete his Ph.D. thesis: “Double Punishment” - The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA): A Qualitative Examination of the Post-Conviction Confiscation Punishment in England and Wales.
As part of his rehabilitative journey Craig has been employed as a probation service officer and was a Criminology lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University for 8 years. He is the leading expert in the country on post-conviction confiscation and his other areas of expertise are desistance, philosophies of punishment, prison and probation and the Danish prison system.
